Rainy Sunday afternoon
With the rain falling on Sunday, the 2nd round of the club championship was cancelled at Outaouais golf club. So I decided to play a little 2/4 NL on Eurolinx.
I wish it would have been sunny!
I overplayed top pair a few times, and got all my money in pre-flop with KK against AK only to lose it. I'll explain later how it happened, but I had called down a big bet from this player, and I knew he wasn't happy about it. But the gods of poker gave him an Ace on the turn and I lost a huge pot.
Here are a few hands where I overplayed top pair and got burned:
#Game No : 144283359

** Dealing Flop ** [ Js 7c 5d ]
RockHD bets [$25.00]
jannebanan folds
burningmoe raises [$102.00]
I should have folded at this point... the $25 bet was big enough, and if someone raises back, I'm probably beat. But no, I go all-in:
RockHD is all-In [$341.00]
burningmoe is all-In [$61.50]
RockHD is refunded uncalled bet $202.50
burningmoe shows [ 7d Jd ] Two Pair, Jacks and Sevens

** Dealing River ** [ 6h ]
RockHD shows [ Kh Jh ] a Pair, Jacks
burningmoe shows [ 7d Jd ] Two Pair, Jacks and Sevens
burningmoe wins $366.00 from main pot
So I'm down to over $200, and I top up again to $400. And I lost about $200 of that by playing dumb and decided to quit for the day.
Here's the hand where I called an all-in on another table, putting the other guy on tilt:

OlsenGang bets [$20.00]
RockHD calls [$20.00]
** Dealing Turn ** [ 6s ]
OlsenGang is all-In [$188.20]
Now I have an overpair, and an open-ended straight draw. I pretty much insta-called because he was an agressive player, and I don't think he bets out on the flop if he had caught trips or a full house.
RockHD calls [$188.20]
OlsenGang shows [ Jh 4d ] Two Pair, Fives and Fours
** Dealing River ** [ 5d ]
OlsenGang shows [ Jh 4d ] a Full House, Fives full of Fours
RockHD shows [ 7s 7h ] a Full House, Fives full of Sevens
RockHD wins $444.40 from main pot
After this hand, OlsenGang rebought for $400. And only six hands later, this comes up:

Seat 5: RockHD ($646.60)
Seat 6: Captain_Amazing ($559.30)
OlsenGang posts small blind [$2.00]
RockHD posts big blind [$4.00]
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to RockHD [ Kh Ks ]
Captain_Amazing folds
HSHB folds
sjomansbill folds
OlsenGang raises [$6.00]
RockHD raises [$46.00]
I over-raised because I knew he would call or raise because of the history from the last hand. The only hand I was worried about was AA, and I didn't think he had it.
OlsenGang raises [$92.00]
RockHD is all-In [$596.60]
Maybe I should have just called to see if an Ace flop, and then go all-in. But as they say, I can't complain if I get my money in being a big favorite.
OlsenGang is all-In [$305.10]
RockHD is refunded uncalled bet $241.50
OlsenGang shows [ Kc Ah ] High Card, Ace
** Dealing Flop ** [ 6s 7c 4h ]
** Dealing Turn ** [ Ad ] - this card just cost me $800!
** Dealing River ** [ Qs ]
OlsenGang shows [ Kc Ah ] a Pair, Aces
RockHD shows [ Kh Ks ] a Pair, Kings
OlsenGang wins $808.20 from main pot
So the lucky bastard catches one of his three outs. I started the table with $250, and I walked away with $230, so I only lost $20 at this table. But it felt like I lost a lot more... The session ended with me losing about $800 because of the overplaying the top pairs on the other table.
